An unfinished carving

Everyone was posting about the importance of books, and that the hobby should be kept alive with the current generation. But reading books has been my hobby since I learnt to read. So, I thought of updating my thoughts on the topic. A door into imagination, books are the key to convert all your clumsy, jumbled thoughts into clear pictures. Books can change your attitude towards life by giving you a new perspective! It helps you slip into a world without too many problems, a flawless place where characters are actually characters, meaning they don't influence your life fully but partially! Learning about different cultures and looking into the daily lives of different people, has an enormous effect on your behaviour. Just that it helps you to learn from the mistakes made in history, whether it led to success or disasters you'll learn from it.  There is a wide range of books from fiction to biography, literally on every topic we are interested in. I feel people should just read...

World Health Day

Happy World Health Day !! World Health Day is observed every year on April 7 to draw attention to a particular health topic that affects people all over the world. It also marks the birthday of the World Health Organisation (WHO) which was founded in 1948. This year the world health body is observing its 75th anniversary.  On this day we remember the importance of health over all other pleasures in life. I had a certain urge to write on this topic just for its present-day relevance. As each day goes by, we think about the things we want. All those holidays, extra things, interior decors and other small pleasures in life. But we fail to realise the need of a sound health to enjoy all of these pleasures. These days  we have made things so much more complicated. We are in need of health advisors, doctors specalizing in separate organs, counsellors for better mental health. Think about it. All these jobs were done by just one body, one mind and a stable soul. Just like the ...

Sharing knowledge

This post is about the happiness of sharing knowledge with others.  I had an opportunity to share my experience with my friends and college mates. It is quite a wierd satisfaction to know that so many people enjoyed my talk .  After racking my brain and thinking of how to fit a 1 week experience into 10 sildes i worked on presenting it . This time I wanted to make sure everyone is going to learn my talk and my efforts reaped well. It was quite hard for me to work it out at the beginning. But just like any other thing I need a motivational talk and push by my mother.  With that I kick started my thinking process. From day one I went through my notes , screenshots and voice recordings. Then I came to a consolidation and the presentation was the outcome.  I have made a few mistakes and missed to elaborate on a few parts. But i sure learnt alot form the process. I thank everyone for giving me this opportunity.  - Bharathi Senthilkumar

An outburst

The village side takes my heart to  Her soft, thin cotton sarees Her smiling face, exposing her almost toothless mouth  Her twinkling eyes looking through my mind  Not to forget her flaring nostrils when I fail to greet the guests  I distinctly remember the thin gold bangles dangling on her frail wrinkled hands Her swollen feet a result of the years invested in the Nobel profession  Whenever I bend down to get her blessings i realise the work that has gone into bringing me to these standards.  Blessed are those who get to talk to their grandmother!!  - Bharathi Senthilkumar ( Picture credits - AI )

World Wildlife Day'23

Happy world wildlife day ! This urban complex has made wildlife memories. We have come from living in the jungle to being scared of small insects. We have made ourselves become comfortable with dogs, cats and other pet animals. I agree crows and their cawing can be ugly but have you ever had the time to sit and watch that golden oriole fly across. Maybe those sulking moths seems to be waiting for a better life just like you. But it seems to have forgotten the painstaking process the butterfly goes through before showing off those awe-striking, colourful wings.  Each time the word wildlife is used we think of the Bengal tigers, snow leopards and the giant panda. But have wondered where those stick insects went ? Those grasshoppers and harmless rat snakes? Have we made them go in exile?   This wildlife day these are the thoughts that wander my mind ! - Bharathi Senthilkumar

National Science Day 23'

In our coded society Science is the decoder It helps us connect with new people and embrace our differences In this complicated natural world Science is our first step towards understanding it  Pondering on the stars, oceans and rocks has bought us to a place of saying " I understand something"  I wonder what we will be capable of saying if we begin pondering on how to solve the problems we have bought on ourselves.  I think the most unique thing about Indian Scientists is that they haven't stopped with their contribution in discovering or inventing important scientific phenomenon. They have taught us various life changing concepts. From learning to move on after major setbacks to being humble on the face of grand success.  On this note I would like to thank our scientist for working extensively to develop the nation. Happy National Science Day '23 -Bharathi Senthilkumar

Book review - Ignited minds

“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning. Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power Within India" is a thought-provoking book written by former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. This book is a blueprint for India's progress, as seen through the eyes of one of the country's most visionary leaders. The book covers a range of topics, from science and technology to education and spirituality, and offers practical solutions for the development of India. Dr. Kalam's writing style is simple and straightforward, making complex ideas easy to understand. He stresses the importance of education and encourages readers to take an active role in shaping their own destinies. The book is full of inspiring stories and motivational anecdotes that serve to illustrate Dr. Kalam's points. One of ...
