I WISH I HAD YOU BY MY SIDE

I wish I had you by my side. I wish I had you by my side  Every time I think about you Every time I feel that empty gap in my heart, Every time I need a person to just listen  I wish I had you by my side When I need a shoulder to cry on  When I need a person to share my experiences When I feel left out form the constant buzz of this world I wish I had by my side  this moment  because I don't know what I'd do without you (From when I was 5yrs old  this is the only constant wish I've never been able to fulfil. Then I wanted my parents and sister now that I have them with me always I've started wanting the people I've become attached to at the different phases of my life. My friends, teachers and maybe patience too!!) - Bharathi Senthilkumar

Aragetrem experience

‘Arts are referred to as a tool to reflect and discover yourself. But performing arts are a form of expressing your inner emotions so the audience can feel a little of the happiness the art gives the presenters. Bharatanatyam being the cosmic dance of lord shiva solicits not only the body but also the mind. Moving every single muscle in your body refreshes your mind to the extent that you see the world from a new perspective each time you dance, each time you experience a part of the bliss it gives you.  While beginning to dance, we learn the many adavus and to discipline the body to sit in the aramandi posture. Once we started practising the adavus by perfecting each moment I understood that dancing bharatanatyam is not just an exercise for the body but an easier way to connect with the mind, through the body. As I progressed to learning small pieces and then to longer ones, my passion for bharatanatyam grew into a hobby. Every time I was tired of studying I’d take to danci...

Science for Society

Science for Society  Science is a way of life. Science is a perspective. Science is the process that takes us from  Confusion to understanding in a manner that is  Precise,Predictive and Reliable.  Moreover science is an experience that is Empowering and Emotional. Science and society are in constant and fruitful interaction through scientists. It is science that gives us a rationalised approach to truth. It is a path of reason, knowledge and dynamism to reality. Science stands for change and challenge in the face of old routined practises.  While historians and archaeologists reveal the mystery of the future. Society has a well established law and order that facilitates research ,observation, experimentation which is conducted for the society. Without a society no scientific research and development in technology is possible. The growth and development of science is in direct proportion to the development and growth of our society. The importance of science to s...

Untangling desires to draw life's blue print

While deciphering my ikigai - I began pondering on what I want to become, and this is what I ended up with I want to become an astronaut, to be to a place where no man has been before. I want to become an author, so my writing doesn't just stay on paper but in minds too I want to become a dancer, so I can be everything I want to in one life-time I want to become a dentist, so children don't undergo the pain I did I want to become a scientist, so I discover something in the place where man thinks he knows all I want to become a trekker, to explore the amusing places on earth I want to become an entrepreneur, to manage my life the way I want it to be I want to become a social activist, so I can talk about the actual problems stopping us from development. Once I began deciding what I do in a day, I realized I've only gotten 24hrs in a day. Out of which I end up sleep for 7-8hrs, its unavoidable (my mom says I need more sleep). Now I've gotten only 16hrs left. After all, th...

Stereotype wipe

We have been taught to stereotype people from their appearance while we are all well aware of the quote " Don't Judge a book by its cover!" Although some try to avoid this, we still stumble over the assumption that  All Indians are religious but is it not true that Not  all of us start our day with flowers, incense and pra y ers. But our politics is rooted in  religion!  We are so drowning in this practice that it has clouded our entire society, blocking the development and independence of each individual. The problem only begins with the sharing of your observations in the patterns of people's  behavior, your style of stereotypes is influencing the person you are talking to , thereby making their insists to also follow these stereotypes. If only not everything we thought about had to be shared and passed from generation to generation. Is not such an oxymoron to be saying everyone must be on the road to development in a world where we are still stuck ...

Setting my ambitions on fire

Setting my ambitions on fire Sci-Fi is an elaborate explanation of the thin line differentiating the reality of factual science and the never-ending realm of creativity. The Sci-fi book I read was George and the Big Banh theory co-authored by Stephen Hawking. I was literally glued to the book by the idea of going to moon through a door. I learnt and understood life in words only after reading the book. I was sweating ,crying and hoping for a life like that. Reading it in one go kept me awake for many nights. It has motivated me to aspire for what i only dreamt of. Reading Sci-Fi for the first time is always a photographic memory, that can never be erased! -Bharathi Senthilkumar
